A Rust PNG decoder is now running inside Chromium. For billions of users. 🦀 image-png (a safe-Rust PNG codec) has been Chromium's default PNG implementation since August 2025, across desktop and mobile. It had to outperform Chromium's own hand-optimized zlib fork to ship : no exceptions on performance, correctness, or compatibility. It's also the default in GNOME 49 now, via gdk-pixbuf wrapping image-rs, already shipped in Fedora, Arch, openSUSE, Ubuntu, and Debian testing. The benchmarks settle an old debate: → image-png: 410 MP/s → libpng (C, with zlib-ng): 218 MP/s → stb_image (C): 240 MP/s All three memory-safe implementations beat all three C implementations. Safety didn't cost performance, it came with a 2x speedup. @chokudai Opus 4.8 は effort とあとなにかのパラメータがかなり重要だったと記憶しています。effort xhigh (4.8 のデフォルト) より下に設定するとかなり微妙というか・・・まぁ・・・その・・・ 4.8 のデフォルトが xhigh になっていることから察したほうが・・・

Antigravity IDE は重いだけじゃなく、 Dev Container の互換性問題(VSCode, Cursor では動作するが Antigravity IDE では動作しない)があるのであまり使おうとは思いませんね・・・
