This was part of a short test to display the percentages of Likes for islands in the ‘Popular’ and ‘Epic's Picks’ rows, and to show more player preference in Discover. The percentages for all islands was unintentionally scrapable during the testing period, and reported by some third-party trackers (ahem). Like percentage is a strong indicator of which games players are enjoying. We plan to make it easier for players to Like or Dislike islands, show the percentage in more rows in future tests, and make it visible through the FortniteDataAPI.

We're working to fix a bug in Creator Portal where Impressions are not properly tracked. You may see lower Impressions charted or click-through rates inflated (because these are calculated based off impressions) in the interim. We'll share an update as soon as this is fixed.

What changed with SEARCH last Friday @FNCreate ? Two of our maps that get plays, completely different style maps and search terms. The impressions from SEARCH basically fell to ZERO. #UEFN

Hello @EpicGames @FNCreate , My UEFN maps has been consistently updated and improved for over 8 months, but it still hasn’t appeared in Discovery I understand the system is competitive, but I would appreciate any review or clarification on how active maps can gain visible

Hey @BeastFNCreative we’re really sorry for the confusion here. This wasn’t a test, it was an error in the Creator Portal and has been reverted. A compact download size means games remain available to as many players as possible – wherever they play. Later this year, we will add the ability to stream large assets (like textures and meshes) to UEFN, increasing what you can fit within the existing headroom.

🚨 HUGE change for UEFN creators. It looks like Fortnite’s download size limit may have increased from 400MB to 800MB. This is something creators have been asking for since Creative 1.0. Bigger worlds, better visuals, more content, less painful optimization cuts. Massive win if confirmed. 🔥

This is the lowest I’ve ever seen the UGC vs Epic player percentage since this data became available. At the same time, overall player counts have also been trending slightly downward. Are players starting to move away from Fortnite entirely, or are UGC players shifting to other platforms following the recent changes?

Hey @AstralFCT, Harold here - I can understand the confusion. Previously, we tried to give as many islands 50K impressions as possible, but it wasn't guaranteed. Now, we’re taking a different approach to testing as we shared yesterday, and the amount of impressions will vary from game to game based on our established signals. Sometimes, those impressions would come all at once and could lead to even more unqualified impressions. We feel confident, and our data is showing us, that our new surfacing is allowing new islands to get more exposure than before our updates. By making this change, we’re able to surface more new islands to players. Since the recent changes to Discover, we’re seeing new islands and more developers getting more exposure and CCU than before. That may vary island to island, but is something we can confirm as a whole.
