Hi FoSL Members! Visit our FoSL website fosalone.org under Past Funded Projects from 2026 to see the full final report from Rural Health Care Initiative in Tikonko and Gondama villages on their project to improve community birth waiting homes. We are so happy for them!

They wanted us to share their progress with our FoSL members; and, we are happy to do it! PLI is developing an Early Childhood Education and Community Center to benefit the children and community of Mondema, Sierra Leone. Construction has begun!

Hi FoSL Members! Passion for Learning Initiative (PLI) has received $12,000 in donations in January of 2026, which is all from their own fundraising efforts. PLI is using FoSL for our 501 status to implement their project in Sierra Leone.

Here is advocacy opportunity from our friends at @pcorpsconnect: We have an action today. The Senate's annual funding request letter to support Peace Corps funding in the FY 2027 budget is out. We have until Monday to get Senators to sign-on to the request.

FoSL Grant approved! The FoSL Board voted to approve $4,000 to a project from Sickle Cell Careers Awareness Network (SCCAN). This project will purchase 3 motorbikes for Sickle Cell Careers Awareness Network, allowing this organization to reach rural communities.

Friends of Sierra Leone is proud to announce our support for the, always successful, Maternal and Child Health Training Conference, this year in Bo at the School of Midwifery from May 11-15, 2026. This $4000 grant will greatly benefit the communities in and around Bo.

Through donations specifically for the Mamaka Agriculture Project in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone, FoSL is proud to help facilitate this project. We just sent them $20,000 for the latest improvements. See pictures on our website for new updates: fosalone.org

We received a project update from Sudu Salone on the six hospital beds at Murray Town Community Health Center. FoSL funded this project with a $4,000 grant in 2025. See their full report on our website: fosalone.org
