#consultanttip - Keep a buffer. Many consultants have minimal expenses so they take out all of the money from the business. This may not only be very inefficient from a tax perspective, but also makes it difficult when you get a larger than usual tax bill. focusaccountancy.co.uk

#contractortip - Don't miss HMRC deadlines! Submitting returns late will flag up your affairs with HMRC and makes a tax investigation much more likely. Even if HMRC finds nothing in an investigation, it can take up a significant amount of time and money. focusaccountancy.co.uk

We like to complete your tax returns as early as possible. This avoids penalties and gives you more notice of any taxes due. Help us to help you by getting us your information as soon as possible after 5th April/your year end. focusaccountancy.co.uk #accountingandaccountants

#consultanttip - HMRC allow 'trivial benefits' to employees, provided they are less than £50, not cash/cash equivalent and not performance/work related. As a director of a limited company, you could give yourself up to 6 of these trivial benefits per year. focusaccountancy.co.uk/post/trivial-b…
