@Footballtweet Nasri was a very brilliant footballer during his days at Arsenal and then at Manchester City, but he didn't stay long as a footballer, I guess he has poor work ethics.

Haaland bullied Gabriel. That was a powerful header.

Its a Haaland party. Norway up against Brazil. 10 minutes to, are we going to see a reaction from Vinicius, Neymar, Endricks or Ederson? Ancelotti is looking stressed at the moment. #BRANOR

Brazil and Norway have had clear opportunities to be ahead but for unexpected reason, it is still goalless between Brazil and Norway. All eyes on Neymar, Vinicious and Endrick to do the magic and Brazil the vital win. Haaland, Ødegaard and Berge for Norway win. #worldcupknockout

Scoreless doesn't mean uneventful, Brazil and Norway go into the break 0-0 after a half that included a missed penalty, a disallowed goal, and enough end-to-end chances to fill a normal 90 minutes. Here's what actually happened, and what it means. The penalty drama is the story everyone will be talking about tonight. Cunha went down under a David Møller Wolfe... sorry, an Ajer challenge in the box in the 12th minute; VAR confirmed it, and then Bruno Guimarães, not Vinícius Júnior, stepped up and had it saved by Nyland. That's a genuinely odd call given Vini is the one chasing the Golden Boot conversation, and it's the kind of decision that gets dissected for days if Brazil don't find a way through later. Norway had their own moment ripped away; Patrick Berg curled a clinical effort into the net only for the flag to go up on Sørloth's run down the right in the buildup, a fraction early before the cross came in. Brazil survived a genuine defensive breakdown there, not a marginal call, an actual lapse. The underlying numbers back up how open this has been, Brazil 1.01 xG to Norway's 0.35, but the eye test says Norway have created the two clearest chances of the half. Ødegaard went close twice, a slaloming run and low shot just wide of the near post, then a second chance manufactured when Haaland dragged both Gabriel and Marquinhos out of shape on a long ball, the loose ball falling to Ødegaard for a shot Alisson somehow kept out. That Haaland moment matters more than the shot itself. It's the exact pattern that's haunted Gabriel and Marquinhos at club level for years, Haaland occupying two bodies just by running in a straight line, and it's the clearest sign yet that the head-to-head history between him and Brazil's center-backs is alive and well in this game too. Brazil's other chances tell you the attack is functioning even without Paquetá, Vinícius forced a smart save out of Nyland, and Martinelli nearly created something from nothing, driving to the byline and forcing a parry that agonizingly eluded a sliding Guimarães on the rebound. The service is there, the composure in front of goal isn't yet. Bottom line at the break, Brazil have had the better process, more shots, more territory, the penalty, but Norway have had the better moments, and moments are what knockout football actually remembers. If Guimarães or Ancelotti don't find an answer for how Haaland keeps bending that back line out of shape, this game is one long ball away from swinging Norway's way in the second half.

An exceptional pass from Vinicius, Endrick can only blame himself, that ball should be going into the back of the net instead of that clumsy shot. Brazil keeps piling up the pressure while Norway have decided to defend deep in the second half.

@JacobsBen So, who started the rumor that the deal was off, or was it a social media stunt?

Manchester United's plan has always been to carry out Ederson's medical after the World Cup. Even before he was called up, #MUFC planned to formalise the transfer in July. United sources deny the deal is off despite reports in Brazil. Ederson still set to join, subject to passing the medical.🇧🇷
