What is even more interesting here is France has the shot quality edge, Spain has the ball recovery edge.
Which matters more? 👇

Steven Dabdoub@StevenDabdoub
Interesting here from my EFI Dashboard France? Better shot quality that ESP with similar shot quantity Spain? Better ball recovery time with similar Final 3rd Control and more forced turnovers with similar # of pressures. Key? Spain has to make their chances count.

An ottoman janissary was a Balkan Christian boy kidnapped from his family at a young age. Brainwashed into rejecting his faith and culture, and then sent back to kill his own family by the turks. Truly one of the most barbaric practices in human history.

🇹🇷⚔️ An Ottoman Janissary was not sent to war, he was sent to change history.

@HellasFooty @SdnaGr He needs to learn how to defend and not just rely on athleticism. He doesn't understand the science of defending. The EPL, Ligue 1, La Liga, or Serie A, is a much better destination for him than the Bundesliga

Meet Paul Gregory, affectionately known as "Tango," he is a legendary superfan of Sheffield Wednesday and the England national team, famous for travelling to matches shirtless, regardless of the weather.
Besides his passion for football, Paul is campaigning to install life-saving defibrillators in every corner of football stadiums across the UK. The campaign was launched in memory of his later daughter Lauren, who passed away in 2023 👏

@TheAthleticFC Grabbing someone by the shirt in a confrontation, is a standard booking. Why are you trying to portray this as unfair treatment? It's clearly an attempt to make out like Balogun was favourable treatment, but that wasn't a correct red card. This is a correctly awarded yellow

Michael Olise’s yellow card in France’s World Cup round-of-16 victory over Paraguay has been upheld by FIFA, head coach Didier Deschamps said on Wednesday.
Olise was booked following an altercation with Matias Galarza. The Paraguayan went to ground holding his face, but replays showed the Bayern Munich forward was only holding his shirt.

I literally don't need to read anything else on your profile to know that you have a double-digit IQ. Being a brain-dead, zombified NPC, doesn't make you cool. You just look like a complete idiot

🚨🚨 𝗗𝗢 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪:
Anthony Taylor controversially refused to award Germany a penalty after Marc Cucurella's handball in the UEFA Euro 2024 quarter-final against Spain. A decision that is deemed one of the most controversial in recent history.
He will be officiating Portugal vs Spain tomorrow. 🇵🇹🇪🇸👀

English

@Dark__val @TouchmineX Do you happen to know of any clips that show it? I'd be interested to see
English

@FootballMan1111 @TouchmineX His arm was far behind his body swinging sideways towards the ball. Ball was flying towards the goal. He increased his body size with the arm -> Penalty.
At that time the rule interpretation was: Ball to the hand -> Penalty.

@markvalorian You're allowed to challenge from behind. You're not allowed to tackle from behind if you take the man (i.e. go through the player). That's not occurred here
English

A critical element that the "rulebook purists" arguing Balogun deserved a red card are conveniently overlooking:
BALOGUN was the one who was challenged from behind.
The Bosnian player played *through* Balogun from behind and placed himself in the path of Balogun's natural step.
When he begins taking that step, Balogun has no idea the Bosnian player would even be in front of him. In that sense, you can't really even consider his move a "challenge." It was simply a step that incidentally landed in the same place the opponent's foot did.
In fact, the reason Balogun's step came down so hard is *because* the Bosnian player challenged into him and knocked him off balance.
This is not "reckless" or "excessive force" by any stretch of the imagination.
The red card was *obviously* unjustified from the outset. The only thing FIFA got wrong here is not immediately suspending the red card after the match.
