Following the 2025 Annual General Meeting held today, Football Queensland welcomes Nick Malham and Andrew Hoyling to the FQ Board of Directors and confirms the re-election of Paula Robinson, while acknowledging the contributions of outgoing Board Directors Ross Thompson and Matt McKay. A State Council meeting of the FQ Congress was also held today ahead of the AGM as the FQ Board and FQ Members met for an extensive planning and strategy session. Football Clubs We Want You 🫵 Football clubs and coaches are invited to explore the Football x Futsal Club Challenge, a structured opportunity for outdoor clubs to compete in futsal and experience its direct impact on player development. Futsal is widely recognised for enhancing technical proficiency, improving decision-making speed, and accelerating game intelligence through high-tempo, high-involvement gameplay environments. Congratulations to FQ Head of Advanced Referees and proud Queenslander Alex King on being crowned the 2025/26 Isuzu UTE A-Leagues Referee of the Year 👏 Capping off a standout season, Alex has also been appointed to referee this Saturday's A-League Grand Final for a third time, further cementing his place among Australia’s elite officials. Alex's appointment to the Grand Final continues a proud legacy for our state's match officials on the national stage, with 13 of the last 14 A-League Men's Grand Finals officiated by a Queenslander.

The new weekly referee appointments process reflects a coordinated approach between Football Queensland, referees and clubs ⚽ FQ start with their allocations, followed by referee self-appointments and conclude with club-managed appointments, each stage contributing to a clear and efficient system leading into match day. By combining structured processes with strong collaboration, this model supports a more transparent and effective referee pathway across the state.

As Head of Female Football, Kellie has played a pivotal role in supporting players, families, coaches and managers while helping create positive opportunities for girls and women across the club. From mentoring volunteers and coordinating team operations to managing challenges with professionalism and care, her impact can be felt throughout every level of the program. Respected for both her leadership and character, Kellie consistently embodies the values of discipline, humility and respect.
