@TheGhostofhogan Andy North won more majors than “regular” PGA Tour events, always thought that was kinda an interesting tidbit!!

Both Andy North and Lee Janzen won multiple majors. Let that sink in. IF you’ve ever watched swing clips of Janzen you’d think he was a strong 5 handicap. Thai is not a knock on him. It’s actually a compliment. Golf, while it takes the physical elements to play well, good fundamentals, center strikes, solid short game, etc etc you don’t have to have a textbook swing to score or compete. Janzen was anything but eloquent or textbook looking BUT he won TWO majors!! It’s hard to win on the barbecue circuit net 9 hole event much less 2 freakin’ majors!! My point is Janzen had the mind it takes for GOLF. IMO it takes a certain mindset to play good golf. (Again not taking away from his physical assets as he obviously had them at an elite level bc u don’t play the tour without them). If I think back over time I can’t think of a player who LOOKED less likely to win 2 majors BUT did than Lee Janzen. The dude had big cods, big heart, filthy short game, and the ability to lock in at the exact times he needed to and focus at the task on hand and block out all the other noise and get it done. I can’t get the imagine of that curly mullet out of my mind from 98’ at Olympic. I love guys who win despite not “looking” the part.
