Yesterday, I made a simple post saying that it would be beautiful if Indian ARMYs sang “Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar” for BTS whenever they come to India someday, in the end of the concert. It was just a harmless thought on how i saw few suggested and i just posted with the song. Nothing cringey too tbh. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Some people agreed, some disagreed, and honestly, both reactions are completely fine. Not everyone has to like the same idea. Healthy discussions are normal in fandom spaces. But what disappointed me was how quickly a harmless conversation turned into mockery, regional insults, and language-based hatred. this user “Human_Ded_World” repeatedly shifted from expressing disagreement to using insults, shaming language, and generalizing others in a derogatory way. 😤Instead of debating the idea respectfully, the replies included name-calling and attacks on identity and background. That kind of tone turns a discussion into harassment. Someone using their bu instead of the main and attacking everyone. 😒 It also distracts from the actual topic and creates unnecessary division within a community that is supposed to be built around shared interests. 🙁 Fandom spaces are meant to be about shared appreciation. It’s normal to have different opinions, especially in a community where people come from different languages and cultures. Respect should be the baseline. You can disagree with an idea without attacking the person who suggested it. You can explain concerns without stereotyping others. That’s how healthy discussion works. If we want online spaces to feel safe and welcoming, we need to hold ourselves to a standard of basic respect even when we strongly disagree. Critique ideas. But leave personal insults and cultural shaming out of it. Disagreement is fine. Disrespect is not. 💜
