If you don't know, I'm here to remind you that the Spain manager decided to bench Arsenal's Premier League champions and Champions League finalists. Without no doubt, David Raya was on the bench, Zubimendi was on the bench, and Mikel Merino was also on the bench. For sure, if that is not underrating them, then I don't know what it is. Who would have thought that players of this quality could be left on the bench? Yet we saw other players starting, including a goalkeeper whose team finished much lower in the league. For me, it was disrespectful to players who have achieved so much. Being a Premier League champion is not easy, and reaching a Champions League final is not easy either. I believe all three players had enough quality to start. The manager may have made a mistake by thinking these players had nothing more to offer the team. For me, Spain could struggle if they continue benching players of this level.
