Taking a significant step towards inclusive conservation, the Ajmer Forest Division has introduced two thoughtful initiatives to make nature more accessible for all.
Over 100 children with visual disabilities from Adarsh Nagar were introduced to “Birding by Ear,” where they learned to identify birds through their calls. To further support their journey, Braille guides of common birds have been provided, and soon, these young learners will experience the forest firsthand.
In addition, a 300-meter wheelchair-friendly nature trail is being developed at Love Kush Vatika, Kishangarh. With a flat, accessible pathway, direct entry from the parking area, and spaces to relax and connect with nature, this initiative ensures that the beauty of the natural world can be experienced by everyone.
These first-of-their-kind initiatives in the state reflect a deeper commitment to inclusion, dignity, and equal access to nature.
