Glorious morning at Splatt, 2 Cranes, amazing flock of 100+ Avocet, 40+ Black-wit, Redshank, Ringed Plover & Oyst all flying over the estuary, great to have Pintail, Shoveler & Gadwall back on Saul Warth. Lots of birds in full song 😊 #Glosbirds

Had three male blackcaps in my Hucclecote garden this pm. Obvious male feeding on mistletoe berries with two possible first winters in close attendance. Would this be a family unit still holding together? Little Egret in Barnwood Park. Where are the blackies? #glosbirds

@oliver_paisey Looks like a Goshawk to me, but what's it mobbing? Looks like a sub-adult male Marsh Harrier?

@Westburyjayner @GlosNatSoc Looks like fresh Inonotus hispidus (shaggy bracket) very common on ash. It turns black at maturity & falls, often seen at the base of stems.

Also around Sandhurst today another late Swift with hirundines, 3 Red Kites, a Sparrowhawk and Kestrel, plus this large, impressive fungi on an ash tree. Can anyone identify it for me? #GlosBirds @GlosNatSoc

@spooner40 Hi Dave, I had a pair over earlier (19/06) while doing my BBS SP0107. Not the first time I've recorded peregrine there. Also picked up Cormorant & Little Egret in previous years.

Frampton-Just had a large bird fly towards court lake, looked like a heron at first but couldn’t see any long legs, and looked like it had a curved break. Was travelling so not sure what it was. May be worth a look for if anyone is in the area. #GlosBirds

@GlosterBirder I remember that place. Found Prinia in a roadside ditch en route. Glad you got it. It is a fabulous country. Had these Bulbuls in the hotel!

Pallid Harrier @CleeveCommon! Adrenaline rush on the family walk when @Gregmabbs shouted harrier as this bird was zooming over the field next to us! Some great views and Greg managed some pics as it chased skylarks. Better pics later and any comments on ID welcome 🙌 #Glosbirds.

@jamesthetyke It's been a good year on neighbouring Cam Long Down, as well, 16 plants, the highest number I've recorded there. Has the rainfall helped?
English

@GlosHobby Probably the same bird over Abbeydale at 12.45hrs. Who'd o' thought 30 year ago we'd be watchin' Red Kites o'er Robinswood Hill . . .

@PaulDMasters @MJMcGill_Anser @CWPBirds @cwpbirder Great pics Paul. I'm assuming people think the back & flanks are too pale for female Fudge?
English

@MJMcGill_Anser @CWPBirds @cwpbirder Thanks Martin. Saw it flap face -on, underwing looked very whitetish but didn’t get a photo
