Lakesha had a gun; she says that she is licensed to carry. Her gun went off during the altercation and the child's mother was shot, she survived the injury. Lakesha was recently found guilty of several firearm-charges, including aggravated battery with a firearm. Lakesha claimed that she acted in self-defense during an ambush, prosecutors argued she shot another woman during a confrontation. Her sentencing is scheduled for May2026.
