“The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts” Marcus Aurelius is trying to convey that a person’s happiness is determined primarily by how they think, not by external circumstances. The nature, discipline, and moral quality of one’s thoughts shape how events are perceived and experienced. If thoughts are rational, virtuous, and well-ordered, life feels content and stable; if thoughts are negative, irrational, or uncontrolled, life feels unhappy regardless of outward conditions. According to him, happiness is an internal state governed by the mind, and improving one’s thoughts improves one’s life

Are children sometimes an inconvenience? Yes. But what a GLORIOUS inconvenience.
Jason Howerton@jason_howerton

A rebuttal to “DINK” (dual income, no kids) lifestyle that seems to be catching on: You are correct. Having no kids to care for is “easier.” No question. I don’t have many bottomless mimosas brunch dates with these days. But, it’s easier in the way sitting on the couch eating ice cream is easier than going to the gym. It feels easy in the moment, because it is… but 20 years later when you’re 50 pounds overweight, things get hard. Few have ever said a grueling workout is “fun.” It’s not. It sucks. But how you feel AFTER you’ve achieved is what makes it worth it. That’s being a parent. Sure, there will be epic tantrums and you will sacrifice much of your instant gratification for their happiness. You’ll feel depleted, like you’ve got nothing left, when suddenly your child will look at you and say something like: “I’m so lucky God gave me a daddy like you.” Your battery suddenly recharges to 100% - it keeps you going. And in those moments—the good ones—you’ll realize that there is more happiness and contentment to be found in THEIR joy than you ever found in your own. This is a wild realization — and an important one. And you’ll be willing to give up even more of what you “want” to see that joy shine through them again. It’s also a significant part of your legacy that when you die, you’ve left God-fearing, people-loving human beings behind who are capable of making the world a little brighter. This is PURPOSE. It’s why God created the family. I’m just trying to point out that doing the thing that is “easier” is hardly ever the thing that is best for you in the long term. Maybe in the short term, living for only yourself feels worth it. But when you’re 60 years old and you’ve finally figured out what actually matters in life… you’re going to want grandchildren running around while you sit in your rocking chair. You’re going to want to see the humans you raised loving their own families and carrying on a bloodline legacy - and hopefully correcting some of your own parenting mistakes. To the *vast majority* of people who read this, trust me… Get married. Have kids. Lead them to Jesus. Win.

@ShawnRyan762 Went through this with our daughter. It was hell... hell digging her out of the dark world she was groomed in and hell as parents getting her the help, she needed to get through it all. She's a young adult now and fully thriving. People don't understand how bad this is.

"There are 75 million active daily users, so it's the largest children's game in the world right now. Most people just throw their iPad at their kid and put them on Roblox, thinking the little cartoon characters running around the screen mean there's no harm in it. But they just banned a young guy who started catching predators on Roblox after getting six arrests, and Roblox sent him a cease and desist letter for being a vigilante on their platform. There are predators on the largest children's game in the world, and most parents don’t even know what’s happening on it." “There's a ton of Charlie Kirk assassination simulators in Roblox that are publicly facing that any child can join. Some are photorealistic, some are cartoon, where they can play the role of the shooter. They can watch in the crowd as he bleeds out. Any child can join this.” @0dayCTF

Watching that HBO or Netflix series because you "like the story" is no different than your dad getting Playboy because he "liked the articles". It's porn, and you know it. You're just trying to justify watching it.

@ChristianMind_ Maybe, but I would also argue that too many pastors have become comfortable ignoring what's going on in our society, and just sticking to their canned sermons on Sunday mornings.

Dear Pastors, This Sunday, Charlie Kirk would want you to preach about the death of Christ, not his own.

False prophets do not speak against God or promote other gods in an effort to turn you away from Christianity. False prophets dilute, omit, or distort the gospel to keep from hurting peoples feelings and to make everyone feel good about themselves instead of seeking redemption.

Political violence is a feature, not a bug of progressivism. Because progressivism is built on top of a Critical Theory lens that sees the world through "Oppressed vs Oppressor" categories rather than a Christian Theology lens of "Right vs Wrong", it trains people to see opponents not as mistaken, but as evil oppressors. If you believe someone is mistaken, you try to persuade them (what @charliekirk11 did). If you believe someone is an evil oppressor ("literally Hitler!", "fascist", "existential threat to democracy", virtually everything and everyone is "racist"), you will feel a moral obligation to stop them. This is why there is radically disproportionate violence emerging on the Left.

The fact that people are celebrating the death of @charliekirk11 is really sad and disturbing. Whatever your beliefs or political affiliation his wife and children lost a father, his parents lost a son and his friends and family lost a brother. My heart breaks for them. Have people become so wounded, angry and disconnected from one other that they no longer value the life of another?

Fellow Pastors, Now is your moment to disavow any hint of moral equivocation between the modern Left and the modern Right. Presidential assassination attempts, Catholic school shootings, Ukrainian girl race-hate-murders... and now open assassinations (on top of the other ocean of openly stated rebellion). If the "seers" refuse to see, the nation perishes. "Where there is no (prophetic) vision, the people perish." –– Proverbs 29:18 Further and higher, our only hope against the rising darkness is national repentance into the love of the Father. This is a problem so deep, we cannot (simply) vote our way out of it. We will have to repent our way out of it. There are two choices before us: Christ or chaos.

@GavinNewsom If your immediate reaction to a mass shooting of Christian children is to condemn prayer, you truly have lost everything good about your humanity. Everything.
