GOT HOBBIES? Yep!
@AdelorLyon I had a turbo Chrysler for awhile, and it didn't like the 91 we sell up here. Always did wonder why it liked Illinois gas more. It just seemed a bit more punchy with the Illinois gas.
I can count less than a dozen tanks of non-Costco fuel I’ve put in my Fiesta ST, and all but one were from road trips. Because of the mods and tune I have on it, 93 octane premium fuel is REQUIRED. Sucks when I go to Wisconsin because y’all only have 91 up there. I’ve yet to need to flash it down to a 91 tune, although if I “take it easy” it’ll probably be okay.
Nice.
Accidentally selected Premium at the gas pump a couple days ago and realized it when it was too late.
Why is this a problem? Facts with Forge, down below;
When gas prices rise, people cut back, and one of the first cutbacks is a lot of people switch to using regular gas due to cost reasons when everything is so expensive. Modern cars can compensate for this; But you will see reduced performance and fuel economy.
This long sitting allows the fuel to accumulate water, and other contaminates that settle in the bottom of the tank when it's not actively being cycled in, and out as it would under normal circumstances.
The fuel will also become stagnant in the ground, and its octane will become lower and lower the longer it sits not being constantly pumped out and then refilled.
The water contamination will also drastically lower the octane of the fuel and make it what I call, "Goats Piss" fuel.
And just to make it even more fun; Because of the refining process, it's really common for Gasoline to be contaminated with Diesel. There is always some, minuscule amounts but either through negligence, or bad refinement, diesel very commonly ends up a little mixed into the gasoline.
My cars are very analog in nature, so if I get a load of bad fuel, like I did, I will notice in engine behaviors. I have less power, the idle is NOT happy and the exhaust has an odor to it.
I believe I have a diesel contaminated load. Again, it's sitting, it has time to separate.
With that said, unless you get your fuel from a busy always moving gas station, don't buy premium. It's not going to be very "premium", otherwise.
@greaseyote Yeah... Cars are kicking back and showing their pissed with this shitty gas too. I'd use an octane booster from a bottle. See if that wakes it back up.
@0rangeChevrolet 70s trucks look great until you take it out of your garage and have to drive it somewhere and deal with the nonsense of driving a 70s truck.
How do I have such peace from the sex bots and pussy in bio?
They won’t bother with accounts that have DMs disabled except for who *they* follow.
Nothing there for the automated scam crap to even select.
Good food for thought.
Pulled out the motherboard to remove the thankfully still fully intact lithium battery that’s known for utterly destroying these machines.
Looks like I got a decent little system.
Finally got my hands on a semi-working Macintosh SE/30!
Needs a recap is all I’m hoping because it otherwise seems to work well.
Currently no sound output. And fussy starting up.
