Eagle eyed members may spot an alternative logo on the Lord Derby Room chairs: FGC with 1901 alongside it, marking the year the clubhouse reopened after the fire. The chairs are over 100 years old, and continue to be used today as the stories they have heard are told once again.

A vintage view of our links before James Braid’s 1922 changes, and there’s plenty to love about the rustic feel. After all, when the club was founded, subscriptions were just one guinea. Safe to say we’ve got a little more to invest in the course now than we did back then!

It’s about more than just the golf here. We place real emphasis on the off-course experience too, making sure your day feels seamless and memorable from booking to departure. The feedback from visitors suggests it’s making the right impression, which we’re delighted to see.

Pot bunkers, an abundance of short fescue, golden dunes and towering pines. If you wanted a single hole to sum up the course, the short 5th would be a strong place to start. #EnglandsGolfCoast

Our current clubhouse turns 125 years old this year, so to mark the occasion we look back at its early history. Like many British clubs, we experienced a clubhouse fire, but few others can boast a link to the Titanic - or being gifted a hippo.
