sorry for harping on this but the problem of “knowing what you want to say but not how to say it” often means you haven’t yet figured out what you want to say. if you turn to an LLM to help organize loose thoughts into prose, you’re outsourcing your cognition to a machine

Project Hail Mary had both me and my 10yo son on the edge of our seats for 2.5 hours. Just a huge, heartwarming blast of a movie experience from beginning to end. Legendary stuff from @philiplord, @chrizmillr @adityasood & team.

I’ve noticed you can tell how far back someone’s programming experience goes based on whether they pronounce “Replit” as 2 syllables or 3.

Jake Rogers was initially on Tigers travel roster for tonight, but he is sidelined after suffering a mild concussion. Rogers was struck by his own bat in the face while working in the batting cage. He received stitches, but is expected to be fine by Opening Day, per A.J. Hinch.

@GergelyOrosz It’s called clipping, and it’s a) community-hostile, b) against FCC rules (if undisclosed) and c) burns your reputation as a creator once people figure out what you’re doing. If you’re a creator looking for partnerships, insist that brands support your own, original content.

Learned about a new trend: Some marketing agencies are partnering with hundreds of "influencers" and distribute (paid, undisclosed) videos to them (eg podcasts) to clip and repost, making it look like organic interest Apparently inspired by Cluely What is real traction anymore

AI may be killing SDRs but not for the reason AI bros say. Heard this from an experienced sales friend the other day: "AI has totally destroyed outbound as a viable channel. Noise from cold AI-generated emails has overwhelmed signal. Warm intros/inbounds are all that's working"
Kyle Asay@KyleAsay_

Person that has never in their life hired or managed an SDR: “Bro I figured out how to replace SDRs with Claude, bro sales is dead just comment and I’ll give you access to my secret sauce, bro I set 9,379 meetings yesterday with my AI GTM Orchestration” Anthropic:

This is the harsh truth that so many SaaS companies still aren't ready to hear. "In a world of agent abundance, the workflow tools sold by our industry are clearly far less important ... "if you can’t become an agent company, your CRUD app business has a diminishing future."

I still think the internet is the best comp for AI. It was a bubble that popped, but the underlying tech turned out to be real. It enabled a bunch of psychosis and slop, but also lots of genuinely cool stuff. Massive labor market disruptions, but LFPR looks about the same.
Matthew Barnett@MatthewJBar

Many people on my feed are expecting massive job losses from AI in the next few years. I am very skeptical. To be concrete: I doubt the US unemployment rate will exceed 18%, or that the LFPR will drop more than 5 percentage points below its current level, over the next 3 years.

Interesting point raised by a smart friend today: Traditional DevRel/tech community building is dead, because AI kills loyalty to platforms, frameworks, etc. Not just because it lowers switching costs- bc it *destroys the self-identification people used to feel with their tools.*

Here’s what I’ve learned after 3 kids: - babies are pets, it’s like taking care of a hamster - 2 year olds and above are people, you just talk to them - 1 year olds are fast freaky little aliens with no reasoning and no sense of self-preservation, good luck.

Also, the baseline airport security experience has gotten WAY better in recent years: both faster and less invasive. I might actually not renew my TSA Precheck. In the normal lines, shoes stay on now, laptops stay in bag, and during business hours there’s often fewer people.
Adam Singer@AdamSinger

Being sad is a choice. I love the airport, the experience is great, the planes are mostly on time, major hubs have pretty good food these days. You're flying through the air at 30,000 feet on a chair. Everything amazing no one is happy

Built an agent this weekend! A Follow Up Tracker that scans Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, and GitHub for stuff I haven't responded to. The new GitHub Copilot SDK made embedding an agent and connecting MCP servers surprisingly easy. Partner: @GitHubfandf.co/45qXiLz

@Mr_Considerate Bloom had a thing for literary conspiracy theories, though. As I recall, he also liked the idea that the majority of the Old Testament was written/compiled by one of Solomon’s concubines.

Probably worth saying that it’s Harold Bloom’s theory of the origin of Hamlet, and that both James Joyce and, more circumspectly, T.S. Eliot were drawn to the idea. I will leave it to Giles to decide if these are credulous idiots.
