There was a golden period for this app around 2020-to-2022. I’d see 2 or 3 brilliant insightful threads on the TL everyday. No slop, just effort posts. I screenshotted every tweet from those threads. Trying to think of a good way to revive them all. Fuck this app now.

This is the sad side of what it looks like to have a broken family, where the child is passed back and forth between mom and dad. The kid is bonded to both and doesn’t understand. The breakdown of the family unit is a national tragedy.

This kind of joke is becoming popular on the left, and I think it's because on a subconscious level they know they're all just using social justice as an excuse to create theories they can tactically deploy to grab the upper hand in social situations.

It feels like the world is closing in. Something immense and impersonal is pressing in from all sides. Ever since I was a kid, there has been a background reality, an ambient texture underlying life, that grounds all experience and holds everything in place. It feels like this is being engulfed by an unnameable force. I’ve never felt this way in my life, even during vibe shifts, even during historical events. Something more fundamental and indescribable is fading.

Helen is obviously right. the feminization of institutions is what led to wokeness, and this is close to impossible to fix at this point but this was phase one. the feminization of information is phase two text is masculine. sequential and logical, it requires sustained attention and rewards disagreement and debate. you can fact-check text and argue with it. text forces you to show your reasoning images and video are feminine. emotional, immediate, contextual, consensus-building. you can't fact-check a vibe or argue with someone crying. visual media bypasses reason entirely and hits the limbic system directly look at what's winning tiktok. reels. shorts. brainrot. goonslop. the entire internet is pivoting from text (debate) to video (feeling). the medium that rewards reasoning is dying. the medium that rewards emotion is taking over this is selection pressure. the people who thrive in text environments (disagreeableness, logic, tolerance for conflict) get pushed out (that's why 4chan was the last fort during covid). the people who thrive in visual environments (agreeableness, emotional attunement, consensus-seeking) take over the ethics of care is capturing the information layer itself and once you lose the information layer, you lose the ability to even discuss what's happening here's where it goes: cultures that accept this feminize completely, reason becomes offensive, truth becomes fascist, disagreement becomes violence, policy becomes feelings. birth rates collapse because feelings don't model second-order effects and family formation requires planning past the immediate emotional state cultures that reject this (religious conservatives, certain immigrant populations, societies that kept women offline or out of institutions) keep having children whichever population keeps reproducing inherits the future. the feminized cultures don't and will get replaced. slowly at first, then all at once what i think is the only way to solve this is coordinated pro-family, pro-marriage, pro-fertility propaganda. not ideal, but women are currently captured by machines making them think that careers matter more than children and families, and they are now convinced of this counter-signal or lose. give them something to do besides crying online the alternative is to watch the cultures that figured this out inherit everything your ancestors built

When teaching is reduced to regurgitating the curriculum and learning to passive absorption of useless information, education becomes meaningless. What matters is not why something is learned or who teaches it, but only that it is processed and repeated, all for the sake of a piece of paper. Once the possession of information becomes the goal of education, both students and teachers will inevitably end up using AI. If learning is treated as a means rather than an end in itself, the rational response is to take the path of least resistance and use whatever system performs the task most efficiently. Obviously, the purpose of the education system was never to cultivate a genuinely educated population. What we learned, how we learned it, never really mattered. What mattered was the system of rewards and punishments that conditioned us to equate value with service to authority rather than substance within oneself. Lewiston Maine is also where Donald Giusti was stoned and kicked to death by a group of Somalis in a park in 2018. The Community Relations Service intervened and made his family read prepared statements disavowing a racial motive. One of the killers got a 9 month sentence.
