The key point from this meta analysis is that while most brain features still resemble natal sex (which is expected because brain sex differences are not binary), trans people consistently show patterns that shift toward their gender identity. In contrast, homosexual individuals show brain patterns similar to their same sex heterosexuality cohorts. This distinction matters because it shows gender identity and sexual orientation are neurologically different phenomenon. Trans neuroscience research repeatedly finds mixed but directionally consistent gender-aligned features, whereas homosexual brain studies mostly show variation within the same-sex population. Tldr: Gender identity research shows measurable neurological alignment with their experienced gender in brain structures.







@sleepy_devo Dev, I'm a neuroscientist with MRI as my experimental modality, and I can say quite confidently that you should not base or ground or justify any of your beliefs about the world on a study of this kind. And, I would say the same thing if it showed a durable difference.
