.@CAREinKenya is engaging alongside Africa Civil Society Organizations Post-COP30 Meeting to assess the outcomes of #COP30 and strengthen a collective push for climate justice, accountability, and real delivery. “At the heart of these discussions must be climate justice, recognizing and supporting the leadership of women, youth, Indigenous Peoples, and frontline communities whose knowledge and innovation are essential to building resilience.” – Getrude Misango, @CAREKenya Country Director. Because climate action must be measured not by promises made, but by justice delivered. #ClimateJustice #ClimateFinance #COP30 #ClimateAction @EnviClimateC_Ke @TaxJusticeAfric @ForumCivESA

The Kenya Climate Change Working Group
Monday reflections from climate policy discussions. One topic dominated the room: #ClimateFinance. For many young people, this term sounds technical but it determines whether countries can actually respond to climate change. A break-down.

Day 1 of the Post-COP30 African Civil Society convening closed with key discussions on the state of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) negotiations, climate finance, adaptation and loss & damage, and transparency and Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Participants reflected on COP30’s climate finance outcome, including the commitment to scale finance to $1.3 trillion annually by 2035, while stressing that this goal will only be achievable through broader reform of the global financial architecture. The message was clear: without addressing structural barriers in the financial system, climate finance will remain out of reach for the countries that need it most. #ClimateJustice #COP30 #AfricanCSOs #ClimateFinance #ClimateAction @TaxJusticeAfric @mercycorps @CAREinKenya

"At COP30, a significant outcome was the commitment to increase climate finance to $1.3 trillion per year by 2035. The discussions highlighted that achieving this goal requires reforming the global financial architecture. The key takeaway from COP30 is that climate finance must be integrated with broader financial system reforms. Without addressing the structural barriers in the global financial system, even the most ambitious financing targets will remain unreachable for the countries that need them the most." Our Policy Officer, Ms. Gloria Majiga, speaking during the panel session titled “Unpacking the UNFCCC COP30 outcomes” at the Africa CSOs post-COP30 meeting in Nairobi, Kenya. We are convening African CSOs together with Tax Justice Network Africa, @Oxfam Kenya, @CAREinKenya, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, and other partners, for a post-COP30 gathering on March 16th and 17th in Nairobi. This gathering will create space to reflect on the outcomes of #COP30, identify gaps in implementation and accountability, and strengthen collective advocacy toward SB64 and COP31. We encourage CSOs, grassroots movements, youth and women-led groups, indigenous peoples’ representatives, policy advocates, and climate justice leaders across the continent to join the conversation. Register here: us06web.zoom.us/meeting/regist… Please share widely across your networks. #ClimateJustice #COP30 #AfricaCSOs

Badili Africa #FeminizingPoliticalSpaces
Badili Africa is on the ground at the 8th edition of the People Dialogue Festival. 💯🥳 This year's theme, "Building a Collaborative Democracy for Kenya's Sustainable Future," couldn't be more timely. As Kenya navigates complex political, social, and economic realities, platforms like #PDF remind us that inclusive dialogue is not just important; it is essential. We believe that a better Kenya is built when diverse voices are not just heard but actively shape the decisions that affect their lives. That is why we're here, part of the conversation. 🤝🏾 🇰🇪 #pdf #FormuniDialogue #badiliafricainitiative
