The numbers are in from the recent North Carolina primaries, and they tell a story of a system that is struggling to engage the people it’s meant to serve. According to data from Business North Carolina, while 1.5 million North Carolinians made their voices heard, that represents just 19.6% of total eligible voters. At the Forward Party, we believe that low turnout isn't a sign of voter laziness; it’s a sign of a system that has left people feeling uninspired and unheard.
