Jefferson Griffin and @NCGOP are absolutely determined to overturn and reverse North Carolina's election for our state supreme court, which Griffin lost by 734 votes. This election is now the last statewide election in the entire country that remains uncertified. Here's a quick summary of what Jefferson Griffin and @NCGOP are asking North Carolina's courts to go along with in their case: 1️⃣: retroactively cancel 65,000 votes that were legally cast, which the Griffin campaign itself chose (and @NCSBE says is based on factually incorrect analysis), and which would reverse the election outcome 2️⃣: only consider for cancellation ballots from early voting and vote-by-mail periods, but none from Election Day (which favors Republicans) 3️⃣: cancel thousands of votes from uniformed U.S. military service members and their families stationed overseas, who voted through the approved and federally protected DoD mechanism for doing so - a method Griffin himself voted with twice Still to this day, the Griffin campaign has not demonstrated that even 1 vote they are challenging was fraudulent, or cast by someone ineligible to vote in North Carolina. Not one. The fact that this is "case" even being considered is a damning indictment of how politicized North Carolina's justice system has become - and how far these people are willing to go to grab unelected, illegitimate power.

With all the new focus on "government efficiency," how many North Carolina voters know that just last year, Republican leaders of our state legislature gave away $500 million in NC taxpayer funds to a secretive venture capital fund whose finances are kept secret? NCInnovation is a non-profit venture formed by a group of big bank and pharmaceutical CEOs in the Raleigh area. They waited until Republicans held a supermajority in the NC state legislature before hiring a large group of lobbyists and pressing for Republican lawmakers to fork over a cool $2.5 billion of taxpayer money for them to invest in startups (for private profit, of course). That amount was eventually negotiated down to "only" $500 million, which Republican leaders transferred to NCInnovation in 2024 as a part of the state budget.
