The OpenAI Foundation is joining Intercept as a founding partner through our AI resilience program. As AI accelerates advances in biology and medicine, we also need to prepare for the risks of misuse, including the potential for engineered outbreaks. We’re completing our initial commitment to the People-First AI Fund with $9.5M in grants to organizations like @Dollarfor_ and @caremessage using AI to drive impact in areas rooted in people-first values. The OpenAI Foundation is re-opening applications to the People-First AI Fund on June 15 – with a new $50 million commitment and updated focus areas. AI resilience aims to ensure the same is true for AI: that a technology so powerful can, in the future, be as safe as flipping a light switch. This work requires the combined effort of many people and organizations. We’ve already begun funding them, and will be investing much more in the coming months.
