9 years ago I was an Assistant Golf Professional at great facility and got approached with a new opportunity. It was a big change, but would lead to more time with Katy. We’d just gotten married and that was a big deal.
We talked through it, and decided we were going to take the chance and build a reputation outside of my previous jobs.
Fast forward a few years, Katy was ready for a change. She had been working at a great company since she was a new college grad, but something was missing.
One night after getting the kids to bed we had a couple ideas that would lead to a golf brand. Something that could start small and grow over time. That quickly changed a few weeks into existence with a “someone should make gear that feels like home!”.
And ever since, it’s been guns blazing.
Taking a bet on ourselves and getting in the ring. It’s not about competing with the big boys in golf apparel, but sharing our love of golf all while making quality gear.
New stuff coming, partnerships being formed. Just happy we get a chance to showcase our gear.
Here’s to what’s to come! 🍻
The Journey is the Reward. ⛳️
Then one night, we were looking at polos for my husband. They were all at least $100 and none of the patterns felt like home.
“Someone should make Midwest polos.” -the offhand comment that would change our lives.
That night we emailed the manufacturer of several well known brands, and to our shock, they responded.
We got to work on making polos.
Two years ago today, my husband and I launched a little golf brand with hats and headcovers to less than 100 followers on Instagram.
Today there are over 1400 polos in the wild and we’ve shipped nearly 900 orders from our kid’s nursery.
Here’s a look at the last two years. 🧵
Fun debate for golf sickos.
Chatted with colleagues recently over dinner about which course has "the best set of par threes". We used a 0-10 scale for each hole and the highest average would win.
My notes.
