I’m the proud son of political refugees. My parents came to this country because they believed in the promise of equal opportunity and real representation. It is disgraceful that the conservative majority on the Supreme Court took a wrecking ball to the Voting Rights Act that has protected the voting power of minorities for over 60 years. This decision is wrong. I’m calling on my colleagues to take immediate corrective action to protect Americans and the right to vote.

For the last six weeks, Zohran Mamdani brought disgruntled nyc renters together. He says their testimonies will shape city policy. Here’s one of the testimonies I heard.
