Foxfield - Reception

@FoxfieldRec @FoxfieldRec today we were identifying the numbers 9 and 10. We arranged the numbers 9 and 10 into groups and any other numbers into another group.

@FoxfieldRec Today during Maths we had to find 9 and 10. First we used different resources to find 9 and 10. Then we had some images to sort out by placing them on the number 9 or 10.

@FoxfieldRec our core text this term is Honey bees. We looked at how Honey bees make honey. We then tasted some honey.

@FoxfieldRec Walnut tree had a lovely time at Woodlands Farm today. We explored shapes in the farm environment while looking at the farm animals. We even had a chance to stroke the sheep and chickens.

@FoxfieldRec This week we are identifying the numbers 6,7 and 8. We had to sort the objects by arranging them into their correct group.

@FoxfieldRec this week in Reception we are looking at balancing scales. We investigated how many cubes it took to balance each object. For example a pen, gluestick and a numicon. We discovered that the gluestick was the heaviest using 28 cubes.

@FoxfieldRec This week in Maths we are exploring the number zero. We looked at objects and had to decide if it had zero objects or numbers.

@FoxfieldRec Today in Reception, we were investigating different animal prints. We had to work out what animal print it was and label them.

@FoxfieldRec today in Reception was our festive meal, we had fun and enjoyed the decorations.

@FoxfieldRec this week in Reception we have been learning how to use compositing of numbers up to 5, by using the part part whole method.

@FoxfieldRec Today Reception had their inflatable day. What a great experience to burn off some energy and have lots of fun with our friends.

@FoxfieldRec Today Reception are wearing spots for 'Children in Need'.

@FoxfieldRec This week in Reception the children are identifying the numbers 4 and 5. We looked at different ways of making the numbers.

@FoxfieldRec today Reception classes wore odd socks for 'odd sock day.' This is to support anti bullying.

@FoxfieldRec This week in Reception we have been identifying shapes in their environment. They looked at the shapes in the construction area and used them to create a car.

@FoxfieldRec This week Reception children are learning about circles and triangles. We have been identifying their properties, drawing them and identifying different shapes in our environment.

@foxfieldrec yesterday during Literacy Reception classes were discussing different types of families. The children discussed with their shoulder partner who is in their families, they then drew a picture of their families.

@FoxfieldRec today Reception had a HSBC workshop in the big hall. We listened to a story regarding the importance of money.
