I'm so sorry again to see so many of my friends and fellow artists affected by all of these layoffs. For all of those affected, I truly wish you all the best during these turbulent times and that you will find another opportunity to get you back on your feet as soon as possible. Woke up to a certain ArtStation Post today. As much as I hate to say it, there are striking similarities between it and my project, down to the obscure handle I went with, specific wear/stains/scratches, and the background.

@Oxitoxic1 Based on his likes, I know he saw my project. What strikes me the most is how he chose to make the same extremely obscure handle among other things. And why would he block me if he is in the clear?

@FrBulix I've seen the replies dude. And some of these guys are not living with us. Its an obvious case of similar primary references and MAYBE they've seen your renders and replicated the lights. Its a Far cry from plagiarism.

@justasquidd00 My only complaints revolve around texturing. The idea that we somehow ended up both making the same decisions using the same sets of references seems crazy.

@FrBulix man stuff like this gets so complicated when you’re dealing with actual historical items. I agree that its SUPER similar, but is it possible y’all just used similar references? To me the sus part is the texturing, but even thats off enough that they clearly painted it themselves

@Oxitoxic1 I never claimed to have designed this Luger. I'm referring to the choices they made during texturing and how they align in several places with my version of it. There is more context in the replies.

@FrBulix Are you and all of the dudes commenting out of your mind? Did you design that weapon? Apart from the scope did you add anything unique to its design? Modellers need to get off their high horses. calling this copying is delusional.

@zbljong I appreciate it. I never went it expecting this would happen. He is very talented indeed which makes this situation even weirder.

@FrBulix I compared lugers. If it's any consoling, your luger is smelling of gun oil and gunpowder. He is really good, but I think there is one or two images that are culprit to this. Never do this. This calls for steal.

I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. His reaction however was definitely suspicious.
