On Sunday, we welcomed Virginia Cabanting as an affiliate, or honorary member of our #Capuchin #Franciscan Province of St. Joseph, recognizing her years of dedicated service as a #volunteer, lay minister and benefactor at our #Detroit ministries.

Today the Solanus Casey Center hosted a group of 6th and 7th graders from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Howell, MI. Together with their parents, the kids toured the center learning all about Solanus and his humble acts of service.

Solanus Casey was the sixth of sixteen children in an immigrant family and was born and raised in Wisconsin when it was still mostly a vast frontier. His parents took their religion seriously and it influenced three of their sons to become priests. Solanus would be the first.
