It raises an interesting question: are modern AI video models also learning implicit representations of physics? Having worked in the aircraft industry for years, I find the overall flow dynamics surprisingly plausible. In the associated video, the flow visibly decelerates along the surface, following the visualization’s color convention (blue = faster flow, red = slower flow). While this is not the velocity convention typically used in CFD, the motion itself appears coherent. Of course, this is not a validated CFD simulation. The model is generating a visually convincing animation rather than numerically solving the Navier–Stokes equations (but it simulates them somehow with deep neural networks). Still, the fact that a generative model can produce flow structures that look physically consistent is remarkable. It suggests these models may be capturing statistical regularities of the physical world from their training data. I’d love to hear from CFD and aerodynamics experts: Does the flow behavior look physically plausible? Where do you see inconsistencies? Could future AI video models become useful approximations, or even accelerators, for certain classes of physics simulations? We’re clearly not there yet, but the progress over the past year suggests this is a fascinating direction to watch.

The reality is that AI is already changing what gets done, who does it, and how fast value is created. But there's another kind of hallucination that worries me more. Human hallucinations. We spend enormous amounts of time arguing over narratives while the world quietly reorganizes itself around AI and robotics. The irony is striking. Machines hallucinate because they're imperfect. Humans hallucinate because we're often overconfident in our own beliefs. Perhaps the biggest risk isn't that AI occasionally invents facts. It's that we become so distracted by our divisions that we fail to notice one of the largest technological shifts in history unfolding in plain sight.
