@Loniyke Thanks! The free extension you mention helps you make / place lights. With my addon, PaintLight, you can still place the light wherever you like, the light painting / masking mechanism is separate and offers it's own independent control, per light. They can be used together.

@Frame_120 Looks cool. There is a blender extension "Light Painter" seems to do something similar.

Added layers to my Blender addon that lets you paint light directly in the viewport. You can adjust opacity, blend mode, and move the layers in world space. #b3d

@Frame_120 Oh wow it's super interesting. How does it work? I mean, do you mask a light source itself or build a mask on the surface? Or is it an entirely different approach?

@itsallprims Pretty much. Though it's a bit more than the usual gobo because you can move it around independently of the light, and even parent it to other objects so that your adjustments stick in world or object space.

@CiucinciuTib Yes! The mask / filter you're painting is independent of the light itself, which you can still rotate and move how you like. I'll be posting more examples soon.

@CashVybes_trb It uses all the existing lights in Blender. The example in the video has a single area light.
