Coaches: Excited that our 2-Volume “Three Levels of Pick & Roll” video is out tomorrow on the ⁦@ChampProduction⁩ website. This video was a labor of love. (Thank you to the Faith Baptist Bible College team in Ankeny, IA for all of their hard work.)

A family member who has known @spurs Luke Kornet since high school just told me that the chase down block he just had might have been biggest play of his career. (BTW, Luke was a 6-8 and 175 pound high school junior with no D-1 offers)

@Zipdog99 @ArizonaMBB @kpeat10 @usabjnt Disagree. Did you watch Aaron Gordon play at Archbishop Mitty in high school? I did. Did you watch him at @ArizonaMBB MBB live. I did. Maybe you did, also. Aaron is 30, 10 years older than Koa. Similar trajectory at same age.

@franfraschilla @ArizonaMBB @kpeat10 @usabjnt Koa Peat doesn’t have nearly the top flight athleticism of Aaron Gordon, that’s the biggest difference between them Peat is gonna get lost in the shuffle in NBA and should have gone back to Arizona

Amazing how the @ArizonaMBB @Kpeat10 narrative has changed over the year. To me, he’s in a similar position to former Wildcat Aaron Gordon who shot 42% from the line as a freshman. He turned out OK. (Watch him destroy a lottery pick here 11 months ago.) @usabjnt

The beautiful thing about Twitter is that everyone is their own expert, no matter how little or how much they know. Obviously you’re an expert. Here’s why they are somewhat similar. Two former high school All Americans who only played one year at @ArizonaMBB . Two 6-8 forwards who were tremendous athletes, but NBA skill level a work in progress at same stage. Here’s some more for you: Gordon averaged 12 & 8 and Koa averaged 14 & 6 in only Year at UA. Both won FIBA Under-19 GOLD Medals for @USAB. I can keep going. Ironically a number of old school Wildcat former players and coaches have compared them to me, as well. Thanks for chiming in. #Beardown 👍🏼😉🏀

@franfraschilla @tjbenson1 @ArizonaMBB @kpeat10 @usabjnt He will be just fine, but the bully ball won’t work as well in the NBA so he needs to widen out his game. Hopefully he gets to a team that can help him develop a more complete game. People forget that the kid was/is a freshman in college.

You are correct, Coach. No one is saying he’s going to be an all-time great but his body of work in high school, AAU, USA Basketball & college speaks for itself. Forget the debut against Florida where he dropped 30, I just watched the UConn game and he was tremendous against a pretty good team.

Facts!!!!! Starting to piss me off actually … Lot of people who never laced em up creating narratives, making decisions and using “analytics” due to their inability to see … @kpeat10 will do what he has always done, which is WIN both on the court and off the court! PERIOD!

You, of all people, are a “player development guy.” This kid has won everywhere and is an NBA athlete yesterday. Obviously, my point is if he reaches Aaron’s level, the shot will have to improve. But go watch Aaron in high school & college. Shot under 30% from three in his first 3 NBA seasons. Thanks. 👍🏼🏀😉

@franfraschilla @BYUMBB Yeah we can tell you’re an eye test guy considering you bring up the most barebones and overrated stats in basketball. I’d recommend sticking to the eye test

I am an “eye test” guy, but these statistics are interesting. Dybantsa 25.5 pts. 51% FG Durant 25.8 pts. 47% FG Flagg 19.2 pts. 48% FG Tatum 16.8 pts. 45% FG Edwards 19.1 pts. 40% FG @BYUMBB AJ had one of the two “30-10-10” triple-doubles in @Big12Conference history.

@matthewwinick And, in fairness, Matt, hope always brings eternal when you get a new player. I lived that life as a coach when we signed somebody.

@franfraschilla I say never trust someone who labels 90%+ of transfer portal pickups as undoubtedly positive. History tells us that is nowhere close to true!

The portal will be good or great for some teams and there will be flops. But it’s been fun watching the reaction each spring to all these players. Here’s a sampling of what you hear: “A great get, “a huge pick up,” “fantastic addition,” “a solid pick up,” “an impact transfer,” “massive get, “solid late portal pickup,” “an intriguing prospect,” “another big addition,” “a monster add.”

The problem with the “draft industrial complex” right now is if they don’t know something, they rely on analytics. It’s possible that as athletic as he is, that a team will teach him to play defense. What he did down the stretch of the season was Dame Lillard-like. This business requires an “educated eye.”

@DavidShefter @ArizonaMBB @kpeat10 @NBA @GatorsMBK Do you understand how many valuable players in the NBA can’t shoot? I can name 50 of them off the top of my head. Koa will be an excellent role player. The NBA is a different sport. He will be a second unit power forward for a playoff team as a start.

Not for one second do I think @ArizonaMBB @kpeat10 will have a problem adjusting to the @NBA. He could shoot the ball over his head & it would not matter. Just go back and watch the @GatorsMBK game with their NBA front line in his debut & let me know what you think. He wins.

I’ve watched him since his sophomore year in high school. I was lucky enough to coach quite a few NBA players. The NBA has 25 stars and 450 role players. He’s a great role player. Take a peek at Aaron Gordon’s first two years in the NBA. Koa has great representation. They’ve talked to teams. We pretty much already know who the first round picks are. He is one of them. He wasn’t chopped liver. Last nine games, he averaged 16 & 6 on arguably the most balanced team in college basketball vs. elite. competition. Root for him in league. Great representative of @ArizonaMBB

With all due, respect, Fran. That gator game was an anomaly. He never had another game like that. He was a poor free-throw shooter and an overall average below average shooter. He is a winner. He’s got great hustle strong rebounder, great heart, great human being. I am a season ticket holder and have watched every single minute of every single game. You can’t use the Florida gator game as the synopsis of his season. Quite frankly, I waited all year to see that same performance, and it never came.
