In this article Michael Steranka admits that HE PERSONALLY has an unhealthy obsession with raiding. He also states that his habits likely do NOT align with how the majority of the playerbase raids. Thanks to Ed Wu, we also know the average player is a Singaporean grandma who doesn't even care much for raids at all. So they agree, unlimited affordable remote raids did not in fact pose an issue at all to the community at large, because ACCORDING TO THEM most people only raid casually anyway. But something doesn't add up 🤔 Niantic higher ups are trying to argue that remote raids are broken and elicit negative play habits from the general playerbase. AT THE SAME TIME, they tell us that not many people are super invested in grinding raids. So what's the truth? Is there a remote raid epidemic where people are abusing the feature, or is Mikey "personally" just unable to control himself and making it all of our problem? Would love to get some clarity and consistency on the reasons for why they are so intent on destroying a feature that brings joy, excitement, and ACCESSIBILITY to so many of us ☺️
