@AmyTrowbridge15 Maybe this is why healthcare workers have become so burned out over 2 years. We have been reduced to one or two dimensions (parent/nurse) by society. Mitigation measures have made this worse. All the other things that fulfill and boundary us against work remain limited.

Something I’m quite proud of: in residency, I learned to throw pots, played ultimate frisbee (most) weeks, joined a book club (and read most of the books), and re-learned to ski. I found it kept me human and compassionate.

Anyone else wish they were a pulmonologist during the @atscommunity conference?

@Nate_LaVoy @UWPedsRes Hi, are your former interns invited to the party?? Because I definitely have been mentally inserting myself into the trip photos 😂😂😂

@DrValentineRae @UWPedsRes Jealous! I cannot wait to work with our interns!!!

Could not be more excited for my newborn-NICU hybrid block. While I don’t love Q4 24s, I do love getting to work with double the amount of @UWPedsRes interns. #MedTwitter

@WhiteCoatPapi 😂😂. I get that. Usually the parents have a lot to say, and by the time kids can talk, I really try to get them to tell their own story. If you have a change of heart and want to reconsider peds, feel free to reach out. I’m an R3 at Seattle Children’s and we have away rotations!

@DrRissman @ChildrensLA @seattlechildren Yes, we are hoping to be the start of this change in terminology! As we know all to well, academia and the law often lag far behind social change. Hoping that you can be our ally in this @ChildrensLA!
English

@Francesca_22_ @ChildrensLA @seattlechildren That's so great to use amongst colleagues and patients!
For academia, that may be a confusing transition since "LEP" is currently a more recognized term used in research and government agencies.
Hopefully more will adapt to using "LOE" and a universal change may occur!
English

You know you're at a hospital that values communication + patients with LEP when there are in-person Spanish interpreters available on every floor (and multiple in the ER).

@c_diazepine Please don’t apologize for this. I often ask my fellows (and attendings if I’m brave) to think out loud. It’s so helpful as a learner to not only know the solution/answer, but the process of how you came to it/decisions you were weighing.

@DrValentineRae The children and medical students in these communities will be beyond lucky to have you! Will be sad to see you leave the PNW, but you KNOW I’m coming to visit! 💜💜
