Dodge/Jeep(Stelantis) has managed to make the 3rd gen 3.6L Pentastar more complex by adding VVL with same problems as previous gens. Relative compression test showed very high with gauge hitting 240psi! Low lift cam lobes on #1 cylinder are wiped. That’s real groovey dude.

With the push of more E15 availability, getting ready for more vehicles with lean codes. That alcohol content PID is going to be a friend to those that use it.

A few thoughts:
- The worst musician in Zeppelin (Robert Plant) is infinitely more talented than the best musician in U2 (Larry Mullen Jr.) so fix that
- Nirvana doesn’t belong top 20.
- The Smiths making the list is only surpassed in absurdity by their ranking over Pearl Jam.
- Sabbath and the Chili Peppers belong in the top 10.
- nobody on @X can name a Primal Scream song.
- God will punish them for disrespecting the Ramones like that.
- I spit beer out of my nose when I saw Arcade Fire.
- @RollingStone music cred trades flat to Milli Vanilli’s.

@DiMartinoBooth @USArmy All manufactures been having major powertrain problems, even old reliables Toyota and Honda. Chasing emission and efficiency standards while trying to cut costs has pushed them to design more complex systems with lighter materials (eg: plastic). Complexity = more problems.

Owning this LEMON has been the biggest nightmare of my gearhead existence!
@USArmy trained my 1923 Italian immigrant (at 2 years old to Ellis Island) grandpa in WWII in London auto pool. He then opened two DiMartino's Sunocos in East Haven, CT. My dad, ME & my son all gearheads.

It Took GM More Than 28,000 Failed V8s And Three Internal Investigations Before Recalling Its L87 Engines, the standard engine in Escalades, High Country Silverados, full-size Denalis, the trucks that people spend the big bucks on. Seems these engines have defective crankshafts causing catastrophic engine failure. Over the past six or so years, owners of high-trim half-ton GM trucks and SUVs have reported engines conking out, sometimes at alarmingly low mileage. Glad to hear these engines are finally getting recalled, but its going to take quite a while to get all those engines replaced

Nixon froze wages and prices on August 15, 1971 -- then watched the economy implode for the next decade. You can draw a straight line from that Sunday night TV announcement to the 13% inflation of 1979.
Price controls create shortages. Always. Nixon's 90-day freeze became Phase II controls that lasted until 1974. Companies stopped investing because they couldn't price their products rationally. Workers got hammered as real wages collapsed (their paychecks stayed frozen while black market prices soared).
The moment Nixon lifted controls in 1974, suppressed inflation exploded upward like a shaken champagne bottle. We got the worst of everything -- unemployment AND inflation -- because the price system had been destroyed for three years. Fed Chair Arthur Burns kept printing money to "support" the frozen economy, guaranteeing the disaster that followed.
