1. You clip a webpage or paste some content to a note.
2. That note takes a "random" image from that note and sets it as its thumbnail.
3. That image is completely irrelevant.

@fedesimio I would like an encrypted note ability (with password decrypt, obviously). Even better would be an encrypted notebook where all notes in it were encrypted. Encryption should include all note contents - not just text.

We are considering building password-protected notes on Evernote.
Many have asked for this, but it's never been clear to me if the key point is end to end encryption, or if it's about the simpler ability to lock notes behind a password.
What are your thoughts?

@jonathanhealy @PatKennyNT Re : Electronic Voting - I think the best option is paper-based voting with electronic counting (as used elsewhere). Best of both worlds, and removes the inaccuracies relating to distribution of lower preferences. Less count drama though ! Frank

Who from Meath is getting to work in 35 minutes and doesn't leave super early?... I drove in daily from Jan-Nov this year and left at 05:30am to get in for 06:10am. Today I got the bus at 7am and was in work at 09:04am (25.8km trip) ... irishtimes.com/ireland/2023/1…

@MaryMc_31 Surprisingly, I also often see Irish Government ads. Guess there are still enough users here to make it worthwhile. In the meantime, I've largely moved to Bluesky and use X less and less.
There are still a few people/organisations here I like to follow - until X IM/EX-plodes !

No, what u're actually enabling is dis/misinformation on a massive scale. Ur big brand advertisers know it 2. The only ads I'm seeing are selling tat...not a good look for a once great brand imo.

@Pidge @TheHardShoulder I've almost given up on buses - too unreliable. The so-called "real time" app is still a joke, despite claims that it has improved. I can cope with delayed or missing scheduled services as long as the app reflects reality. Clearly, in my experience, a lot of the time it doesn't.

The reason buses get delayed is because they get held up in traffic.
Fewer cars = faster, more reliable buses.

This thread is *required reading* for anyone who doesn’t understand why pro Israeli perspectives and talking points stand in such stark contrast to the calls for an end to Israel’s apartheid system and ongoing military oppression of Palestinians. It really is kind of complicated.
