@Phoenix9169 I'm a Roma fan and it has been an embarrassing amount of money to get to this point. Meno male siamo arrivati

4 managers and €276,32m post-Mourinho - Roma finally qualifies for the UCL. Friedkins took an incredibly stupid way around instead of sticking with Mourinho, but I'm glad for Roma fans, they deserve it. I hope we won't meet next year, as I'd have to support Real in that tie.

@morten_bering This did always feel odd. Tudor was clearly a caretaker coach

It is possible to point to several games throughout the season and say that "here an important step was lost" Perhaps the correct analysis is that the biggest step was lost when Juventus failed to replace Tudor last summer with a better coach, - Comolli I'm looking at you ⚫️⚪️

@IFTVMarco I think they deserve praise for having strong financial backing, a great coach, a clear vision. But they are not Leicester or some poor club. last year they spent considerably more than Inter and Roma

@FrankFF10FF And that’s why I mentioned compared to the teams they’ve competed against. Roma milan juve spent hundreds of millions for years. Como have spent big for 2.5 yo years and got UCL

The knock on Como I always hear is “they’ve spent a lot of money” To me, they’ve invested money and they’ve done it well. Juve & Milan spend hundreds of millions to get worse players. Btw check their salary spending, 10 teams spend more than them. Working smarter.

@coupedumonde07 EXACTLY. This is probably the worst Roma side in this decade. Utterly flabbergasted on this Juve-Milan bottle job 😭😭😭

Worst part of this is Roma are genuinely shit man. Openda scored the winner vs them. And they were struggling vs Verona today and needed a red/pen to save their ass

@IFTVMarco But they spent a fortune on transfers last year alone - gazzetta.it/Calcio/Serie-A… They're a great project, but certainly no Cinderella, and they're getting a bizarre amount of praise for a side that has no Italians in a year the NT failed to qualify for the WC

@sunday_coach @e_natunas I'm not sure why that team all till catching strays. Like yes we were relegated but we still had a core of true warriors and champions. On their last legs but still.

@pazzapicks A bit like Klopp and Liverpool's season where they had what would have been a record point total... only City had a bigger record. Roma have been quite quite quite unlucky in the modern era.

@FrankFF10FF Why I laugh at the Scudetto talk in the summer & if 2/3 big clubs aren’t in banter era Roma had zero hope surpassing them. Why I’m frustrated they didn’t win a trophy between 2010-2017

@oeste @that_dagoguy Usually when people pick a marker to flagplant like that, the implication is that that moment was the last time the team was so bad. That Serie B team was quite good. The Del Neri years were much much worse

@that_dagoguy @FrankFF10FF my tweet wasn’t to say the team that went down to B was bad. it was saying it’s the worst team Juventus have put out SINCE that relegation

@that_dagoguy @oeste There doesn't seem to be enough acknowledgement how many of Juve's greats and legends of that era actually stayed with the team when it went down. Sometimes it seems people are impling that they were shitty because they were in B

@oeste The team that got out of Serie b was better than the current squad, and more importantly played as a team. This squad and the club as a whole lacks real structure. I hope next season can be the beginning of a new cycle with a real vision, but I’m cautious with my optimism.

@MatDeVito @SiavoushF I think it’s a cool achievement (though in light of the failure of the NT at the WC how much should we cheer a team with no Italians in it), but they’re hardly poor so hardly a fairy tale. They’re ambitious and well run.

@FrankFF10FF @SiavoushF It’s a flawed argument because Milan spent 165 million € and Juventus spent 135 million € in the last season. Not to mention the gigantic historical disparity! Yet Como finished on top of both of them: hence the fairy tale

Meanwhile Gasperini took Roma to CL football for the first time in seven years. That while playing in Europa league most of the season losing energy with Thursday night matches

@FrankFF10FF @SiavoushF Not really, that’s a flawed argument. It’s a very young team that has built this success on a beautiful style of play, with only the 11th wage bill in Serie A. Don’t tell me you believe that Como has been spending more than Milan and Juve in the last 2 years (or ever)…

@SiavoushF A great result, but the spotlight belongs to Fabregas who has just taken Como (Como!) to the 4th spot and UCL qualification: arguably the greatest fairy tale in Italian football since Hellas Verona’s title in 1985

In a typical Romanista fashion, the happiness that I had about Roma potentially making it to the Champions League after the derby win, has transformed into anxiety and I'm now terrified that they will screw up and lose this supposedly advantageous opportunity. Please win Roma.
