This exchange is so on point. Biden's been admitting refugees from leftwing countries (Vzla, Cuba, Nica) to join communities that vote Republican. Most are workers they claim, too. Yet Rs accuse Biden of bolstering the ranks of the Democratic Party. What bullshit.

In 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018 and 2022 Dems reached out in good faith. McCain got to yes, but most Rs run the same play: pretend good faith, get to no.

Another reason this is good politics: It could split the GOP coalition, something @danpfeiffer regularly talks about as a guiding strategic imperative. Pit pragmatic GOP governors who recognize the value of migrants against DeSantis and MAGA Rs who use them as stunt vehicles.
