Something I recently learned from reading this thesis is that Robinhood Chain’s chain ID, 4663, maps to HOOD when using the old phone keypad T9-style letter mapping.
4 = H
6 = O
6 = O
3 = D
So the narrative is:
4663 = HOOD
Personally, I found this pretty surprising.
It does not feel like a ticker someone forced into existence, or just another short-term hype narrative. It feels more like lore that is embedded directly into Robinhood Chain’s own chain ID.
4663 does not rely on being “the first memecoin” or on some temporary event-driven narrative.
Since the story comes directly from the chain ID itself, I see it as being much more deeply connected to Robinhood Chain’s identity.
Another interesting point is that this token is connected to the NOXA developer.
NOXA has become one of the important pieces of infrastructure in the early Robinhood Chain memecoin ecosystem, so the fact that 4663 is connected to someone from inside that early ecosystem makes it more interesting to me.
It makes 4663 feel less like a random outsider memecoin trying to borrow the Robinhood narrative, and more like a token with a narrative connected to the early ecosystem itself.
On top of that, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev’s background is also an interesting point.
Vlad Tenev is not just a finance CEO. He has a very strong connection to mathematics.
According to Robinhood’s official investor page, he received a B.S. in Mathematics from Stanford University and an M.S. in Mathematics from UCLA.
UCLA’s math department has also described him as a UCLA Math alumnus, and he was invited as the keynote speaker for UCLA’s 2019 Mathematics Commencement.
Vlad also co-founded an AI company called Harmonic, which focuses on mathematical superintelligence — AI capable of mathematical reasoning and proof verification.
So in short, Vlad Tenev is not someone who simply studied a little bit of math. He is a mathematics major, a UCLA math master’s graduate, and a co-founder of a mathematical reasoning AI startup.
With that in mind, the fact that Robinhood, led by someone with such a strong mathematical background, chose 4663 as the chain ID for its new chain — and that this number maps to HOOD through T9 — is extremely interesting.
Of course, Robinhood or Vlad has not officially said that 4663 was intentionally chosen to represent HOOD, so we cannot state that as a fact.
However, I think the possibility that it was intentional is quite high. And even if it was a coincidence, it still fits Robinhood Chain’s identity almost too well.
That is why I see 4663 = HOOD as a very strong number-based narrative for Robinhood Chain.
