@AndyRobsonTips Pretty sure he had a shot blocked that was on target in the 2nd half. Does that not count?

My ideal lineup for tonight This is just the kind of game we could really use Henderson so it’s a shame he’s injured Hoping we can sit back and hit on the counter, which plays to our strengths COYB 🐝

@brentford_daily Sorry - he gave the ball away repeatedly all game. I’m not using him as a scapegoat btw - but I do think his season has been extremely underwhelming. His performance against Fulham was poor. He needed to kick on from last season and step up this season. He hasn’t.

Kevin Schade is being used as a scapegoat by Brentford fans I thought he didn’t have a bad game yesterday at all, was good in terms of physicality, worked hard and wasn’t the worst with his feet at all For the first time in a while he looked like he wanted to play for us

@thesoopabees We beat Burnley (albeit with a bit of luck) We drew with the muff (somehow) who just beat Arsenal at the Emirates Yes - we blew it against Wolves. I’d say things aren’t quite as bad as you think. Sleep it off. It won’t be as bad in the morning

Absolute bottling cunts. Burnley, Bournemouth, Wolves now this. We ain’t beating Fulham next week. We are shit every week. We do not deserve 7th and we have been sat in the same position somehow for 3 months when we are crap. Our defence and shite finishing is costing us yet another chance at Europe

@thesoopabees He’s found his level in the championship. The tank was a complete liability for Brentford in every game he played. Ran around like a headless chicken. Full of clumsy fouls. Looked like he was completely unaware of the press that the rest of the team was adopting

I will die on this hill that Frank Onyeka was not utilised properly at Brentford. Don’t get me wrong he had games where he was absolutely useless especially under Thomas Frank. Terrible ball control but his pressing and athleticism was there to see. He reminded me a lot of Vitaly and probably suffered from the same problem. Played a different position for FCM. Norgaard was the main man for Brentford which meant Vitaly couldn’t play as the 6 like he could in the Championship, Onyeka also suffered where he was forced to play a different role. Now Coventry have built the team around him and they’re in great form. If we kept him I genuinely reckon he would have been a great Janelt replacement in games where we struggled against Burnley, Wolves and Bournemouth
HC@HCfootball01

A lot of the reoccurring problems Coventry had in that poor run before January was they became easy to play through, easy to transition against & easy to find joy centrally against them. I can’t even tell you from what I’ve seen how ridiculous of a signing Frank Onyeka has been to stop them things from occurring as often, oh and he clearly can strike a ball. What a signing, they’ve kept 4 cleans sheets in the 9 games he’s played, they’ve won 8 of them games.

@henrywinter The issue we have is that the current crop of referees are incapable of making decisions - let alone correct decisions. They wouldn’t be able to cope. I hate VAR. ST home & away with Brentford. Damned with it. Damned without it

Premier League fans deliver damning verdict on VAR. 75% of 7,946 fans polled by the Football Supporters’ Association “didn’t support the use of VAR”. Too long, too forensic, too much of a joy killer, fans say. Findings shared with Premier League and PGMO. 92% of fans surveyed “agreed” that “VAR has removed the spontaneous joy of goal celebrations” (82% of them “strongly agreed”). 85% of match-going fans “strongly disagreed” with the notion that “VAR makes watching football more enjoyable”. And 83% of those watching on TV. 85% of match-going fans “strongly disagreed” that “VAR decisions are generally resolved in a reasonable amount of time”. Echoed by 83% of those watching on TV. Only 18% agreed that “VAR has improved the overall accuracy of refereeing decisions”. 72% are “concerned about the expansion of VAR beyond its current remit”. 79% “strongly disagreed” with the suggestion “that the match-going experience is better with VAR”. 67% “strongly agreed” that they preferred “watching games that are played without VAR to games with VAR”. 84% “strongly support” goal-line technology. 34% “strongly opposed” to the idea of a challenge system (two per game per team). “These findings back up the FSA's previous survey in 2021, where fans expressed misgivings about the introduction of VAR,” says Thomas Concannon, @WeAreTheFSAPremier League network manager. “The vast majority are reporting the same concerns five years on - the loss of spontaneity when celebrating goals, and an overall worsening of the match-going experience. We have shared the survey results with the Premier League and PGMO, and look forward to discussing its findings with them.” Fans surveyed of all PL clubs and all ages (Under-18 to 65+).

@thesoopabees I don’t think KA will drop Schade. Which is really frustrating! Big discussion at half time with quite a few fans who can’t wait to see him go this summer. Sad that we pretty much all feel the same. No one will miss him. Such a frustrating player.

Let’s have it right here. We can all moan about the Andrews in game management. I myself don’t think he painted himself in glory tonight. Why it takes us getting to 2-2 to actual show a tiny bit of effort again baffles me but besides the point His options are Schade who is literally playing against us Nelson who can’t stay fit for a single minute and Donovan. I myself love Donovan but risking dropping a man who’s meant to be a German international and meant to be a 50 million player for a B team player who’s 19 takes a lot of courage I don’t really blame Keith for that but for me our best team doesn’t involve Schade. Who he now chooses out of KLP, Nelson and Donovan is what’s important because he doesn’t deserve to play the next game

@TheEalingRoad Fair assessment. We all want a European tour - but let’s face it, this squad won’t be able to cope with the amount of games we’ll have to play. We haven’t played well for 90 mins since the Arsenal game. Every game since then has been winnable and yet we’re stuttering badly

A carbon copy of the Burnley game in many aspects in the worst way possible. We started quickly with more energy than we've seen in recent weeks and we were 2-0 up courtesy of some brilliant goals - but then came the setback with Damsgaard's tackle unfortunately breaking to the visitors and massive spaces for Wolves to run through on goal behind the midfield. Think we're missing Janelt massively and not sure how to arrest this slide. Second half was complete chaos and it is baffling how we don't try to slow the game down and exert some control. Players looked lost at times and the likes of Kayode being out of position 90% of the time is not helping our shape and is dragging others out of midfield. Both teams had chances to win it at the end, with Nelson missing a golden chance but a point is the most we deserved after the luck we've had in recent weeks. If performances don't improve, and its difficult to see how they will right now, we won't be in Europe next season for sure! 🖋 @DanielToppin

I don’t care what anyone says by the way I know it’s Groundhog Day and we always have the discussion of dropping Schade for KLP however how can anyone watch Kevin Schade today and say he is deserving of starting. We started to play our best football without him in the team Dango started to play well again for us when Schade was suspended. Keane can be frustrating and quiet. absolutely. But his ball retention and team play is miles better than Schade’s even if Keane doesn’t score goals. One stinker against Brighton (by the whole team) and Kevin Schade has been forced back in when he’s absolute garbage. He’s been utter shit since the Chelsea game and is so overprotected

@henrywinter VAR took over 5 mins to make 2x decisions in the Burnley Brentford game today @henrywinter 1x for offside - it was marginal but they got the decision right 1x for handball - again the correct decision was made but it really shouldn’t take 5+ mins to get there. Killing the game

More work for officials with IFAB changes – if leagues opt in - but at least the law-makers are attempting to tackle time-wasting by players. But the biggest time-wasting is by pernickety officials with VAR. Technology needed but it has to be for “clear and obvious” mistakes only. The original intention. No to re-refereeing. IFAB says changes “a decisive and forward-looking step in ensuring that football remains fast, fair and dynamic” but not if taking 2+ mins. IFAB also not addressed the six-yard-mosh-pit at corners. Anyway, today’s changes applicable from World Cup on include… 1. If a ref believes throw-in or goal-kick being deliberately delayed, there will be a five-second countdown. If exceed countdown, throw-in awarded to oppo while goal-kick becomes oppo’s corner. Definitely worth seeing in action, seeing if it speeds up the game. 2. Substituted players must leave pitch within 10 seconds of board being displayed. If they dally, the player coming on “will not be permitted to enter until the first stoppage after one minute of play has elapsed”. Definitely with looking at in action. Some players turn into snails when subbed. One issue is if the player coming off elects to go across pitch towards dug-out rather than step off the field, and go round pitch past opposition fans. 3. Injured players – requiring on-field assessment or simply causing play to be stopped – have to go off and stay off “for one minute once play has restarted”. 2xPL 30-sec. Be interesting to see how this pans out: yes, it prevents/punishes time-wasting but it also punishes a team whose player has been only briefly incapacitated. 4. More VAR. VAR now permitted to check and review: red cards arising from a clearly incorrect second yellow; mistaken identity “when the referee penalises the wrong team for an offence resulting in a red or yellow card being shown to the wrong player”; and competitions may allow VARs “to review a clearly incorrectly awarded corner kick, provided that the review can be completed immediately and without delaying the restart”. Clear and obvious, yes. And be quick about it. Also: eight subs allowed in friendly internationals and could be up to 11 if both teams agree. Also also: IFAB backing trials over measures to combat goalkeeper tactical injury delays; consultation measures to address “players covering their mouth when confronting opponents”; and Arsene’s Wenger “daylight” offside rule to continue being trialled. Somebody once said that football's beauty was in its simplicity.

@Beesotted So incredibly impressed & proud of the team. Bringing 6 extremely salty points back to west london from Villa & Newcastle means we can play with confidence - without any pressure or expectation. Arsenal have to win. There’s a lot more riding on this fixture for Arsenal now.
