I’m meh around chapel hill undergrad. Not a big fan of that, again, but if he can succeed whatever. More concerned about his lack of true G5 experience. Not sure how typical SMU is. Raising money at big brands with long established bases is far different than raising money at Charlotte.

So far, I’m seeing mixed feelings from @Charlotte49ers fans about the next AD having his undergrad degree from Chapel Hill.
He has overseen major growth in Clemson basketball, and oversaw their football program. I wouldn’t care where he graduated from. Success is success.

@_agent49 Maybe? You're the first to say this. The dialogue I've heard around Mike was that fundraising wasn't his strong suit. I hope that's the case.

@Fratetastic Pretty sure Mike Hill had that experience at Florida. Power league fundraising isn’t equitable to G5. Just a different landscape and unique challenges.
That said, winning in FB and MBB will solve 90% of fundraising issues.

No time at G5 that has financial constraints similar to Charlotte.
Doesn’t mean he can’t fundraise here, but it’s a different type of AD than he’s used to.

Florida State University students, parents & taxpayers are directly contributing to the salaries of FSU Football players per a new university rule... The school just raised tuition 10% for out of state students. And, FSU Athletics now carries 71% of the university’s total debt:
