@Freakaphile_ i’m not a big fan of the movie but i think the book is a masterpiece. nabokov really put his soul into writing it, fucked with his psyche while working on it too he almost destroyed it because he thought publishing it would ruin him. this goes into a convo about censorship ofcLOL

i really enjoy the idea of a perverted older man clinging onto every action a young girl makes, trying to justify how he feels about her while simultaneously trying to provide for her. taking all these fully innocent actions as teasing until he can’t handle it anymore
