@UndeadDuelist magic has more recongnizable humans than dragons. The planeswalkers ( from the gate watch ) are more popular than Shivan dragon or other dragons. STILL I think most people heard about Nicol bolas...

Magic players are funny because they'll show you 12 different dragons and try to convince you they're as recognizable to the average Joe as Blue-Eyes or Charizard. The point is outside of their game they aren't well known. Ofc every fandom can recognize 100 of their own dragons.

Magic: The Gathering would’ve been 100x more iconic if it had a big legendary dragon every 20-40 year old immediately recognizes. 🐉 This was basically a requirement for any iconic ’90s-2000s IP.

Sometimes you brick. It comes free with the random shuffling. You can get mana screwed in MTG, you can go oops-all-handtraps in ygo, completely miss your curve in optcg or whiff every search in digimon. But none of it will ever feel as bad as watching your opp hit overtrigger
