In November last year, the international campaign to Free Marwan Barghouti was launched with this powerful installation in Kobar, Palestine. While being tried in a court he didn’t recognise, in proceedings that independent legal experts, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and many human-rights observers condemned as politically motivated, deeply flawed, and lacking credible evidence, Marwan Barghouti delivered this speech for the world. He faced charges that even the judges admitted lacked sufficient proof in many of the original counts, under a system that was built to silence a leader rather than uncover the truth.
