🏛️ South Africa doesn’t have a capacity problem. It has a government size problem. Year after year, we’re promised reform. Instead, we get more departments, more spending, and more bureaucracy, with fewer results. An oversized state is not neutral. It drains resources, slows growth, and limits opportunity. Free SA is calling for real change: ❗ Cut government excess ❗ Reduce wasteful spending ❗ Build a lean, accountable state South Africans deserve a government that works, not one that keeps growing while services decline. 📝 Make your voice heard. Demand a smaller, more effective government. 🔗 Take action: freesa.org.za/shrink-the-sta…

🚨 Defend your right to self-protection. Law-abiding South Africans are being sidelined while decisions about firearm ownership are pushed forward without proper public input. This isn’t just about policy. It’s about your safety, your rights, and your voice. Free SA is calling for: ❗ Transparent law-making ❗ Real public participation ❗ Protection of lawful self-defence rights In a country facing high levels of violent crime, policies must target criminals, not responsible citizens. 📝 Make your voice heard. Stand up for your rights and demand accountability. 🔗 Take action: freesa.org.za/defend-gun-rig…

🚨 Say no to race-based economic control. South Africa cannot afford another round of failed policy dressed up as “transformation.” The proposed BEE amendments don’t expand opportunity, they restrict it. They increase compliance, raise barriers to entry, and make it harder for businesses to grow, invest, and create jobs. After decades of BEE, the promise of broad-based empowerment remains unfulfilled, while ordinary South Africans are still locked out of real economic opportunity. This campaign is about something simple: 👉 Growth over bureaucracy 👉 Opportunity over race-based quotas 👉 Empowerment that actually works 📝 Make your voice heard. Join Free SA in calling for the repeal of race-based empowerment laws and a shift toward policies that grow the economy for everyone. 🔗 Take action now: freesa.org.za/stop-bee/

🚨 Your property rights are under threat. A new eviction bill could force property owners to carry the burden of housing obligations that belong to the state. Under proposed changes, courts may require that alternative accommodation be secured before an eviction can proceed, shifting responsibility away from government and onto private citizens. That means: ❗ Delays in reclaiming your property ❗ Increased legal uncertainty ❗ More state control over private ownership This is not balance, it’s overreach. South Africa’s Constitution protects both property rights and fair legal process. We can support housing solutions without undermining ownership itself. 👉 Free SA is calling on you to take a stand. 📝 Make your voice heard. 📢 Oppose forced accommodation obligations. 🏠 Protect property rights for all South Africans. 🔗 Submit your comment here: freesa.org.za/protect-proper…

🎙️ Government wants to control podcasts. Licences. Content policing. State oversight of your voice. That is what is being proposed. This is how censorship starts, not with bans, but with regulation. Podcasting has given ordinary South Africans a platform without gatekeepers. Now government wants a seat between you and your audience. 🛑 Push back before it becomes law. Make your voice count. 👉 Take action now: freesa.org.za/stop-podcast-r…

“This is not about safety. It’s about control.” Government is now discussing regulating podcasts in South Africa, despite admitting that existing laws already cover real harm. So why expand regulation? Because once speech is monitored, interpreted, and controlled, people don’t get silenced by force. They silence themselves. That’s how free speech disappears. Free SA is pushing back against these proposed podcast regulations that could impact independent voices and online content. 👉 Add your voice in under a minute: freesa.org.za/stop-podcast-r… Watch the full video by @RobertHersov on @TruthReportNews: youtube.com/watch?v=OU-eDB… If you value the right to speak, question, and challenge authority, now is the time to act.

🎙️ Should government regulate podcasts? In this interview on @CapeTalk, Free SA spokesperson Gideon Joubert warns that proposed rules could limit free expression, introduce licensing for opinions, and silence smaller voices. Podcasts are open, accessible, and self-driven. Regulation risks changing that. 🎧 Listen here: omny.fm/shows/mid-morn…

South Africa’s relationship with the US is under strain, but this moment also presents an opportunity. Free SA’s Paul Maritz argues that provinces, especially those focused on growth, good governance, and global alignment, could play a leading role in rebuilding and strengthening international partnerships. Instead of being dragged down by national-level tensions, decentralisation could open the door to real economic cooperation where it matters most. 👉 Read more: businessday.co.za/opinion/2026-0…

“Why does government think it can clamp down on a budding sector, one that allows ordinary people to exchange ideas freely?” Asks Free SA Spokesperson, Gideon Joubert. Free SA strongly condemns Parliament’s exploration of regulatory measures targeting South Africa’s rapidly growing podcasting sector, warning that such intervention poses a direct threat to freedom of expression and democratic discourse. Government Wants To Regulate Podcasts In South Africa… Here’s Why This Is Dangerous South Africa may soon regulate podcasts, and this could have serious consequences for free speech, independent media, and content creators across the country. Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Communications and Digital Technologies recently held a roundtable discussion exploring whether podcasting in South Africa should be regulated. The discussion included government officials, regulators, technology platforms, podcasters, and civil society groups. The outcome of this meeting could shape future legislation and policy governing podcasts and independent media. Human rights begin with one principle. Power must belong to the people, not politicians. Freedom is the right to choose your own path. Prosperity is the right to build and grow without unnecessary barriers. Community is the right to solve problems together, especially where the state has failed. When decision-making is taken away from citizens, rights become hollow. When opportunity is restricted, dignity is undermined. When communities are sidelined, resilience is weakened. A truly rights-based society puts people back in control. Free SA exists to turn that principle into action. To restore decision-making power, unlock real economic opportunity, and support communities that can stand on their own. This Human Rights Day, focus on what matters. Real rights. Real power. Real change. Get involved: freesa.org.za
