We are devastated to receive news tonight of the passing of Auriol Holt Roberts on Wednesday. She had been a penpal to Talha throughout his eight years in prison and met him regularly after his release when she was in London. She was a remarkably kind, caring and brave woman.

We are very saddened to learn of the passing of Bruce Kent. He was a man whose Christian faith compelled him to pursue peace and justice. He visited Talha in prison many times, and supported the campaign with protests, poetry readings and prayers. He will be greatly missed.

We were devastated this morning to learn of the passing of the talented writer Uschi Gatward whose book came out only a few months ago to great acclaim. Her award-winning story was the most perfect embodiment of our campaign's arc. We mourn her loss deeply.

On this day 2012, the #ColumbusDay weekend, Talha Ahsan was deprived of sight and sound, and forced onto a plane for #extradition to #solitaryconfinement in a country he had never visited. At the same time, his first place @KoestlerArts poem was displayed at the South Bank.

@FreeTalha It is galling how Talha's case is still written out of the conversation on this.
