That's intense. And funny. I remember the first time I saw that, about 6 years ago on an unmounted 1200 mm Dobsonian telescope with a 40mm eyepiece, so...really fast. Like the Moon would only be in the eyepiece about 10 seconds, then I'd have to manually move the whole big scope. I knew what caused it, but was annoyed by it. I've never even looked through one of my imaging scopes. This new one though, I bought a diagonal and a couple eyepieces. So I'll be able to look through it, while the mount follows the target very solidly, so it will appear to not move. I'll have to move a little though!

@megagoose11 This. My first long exposure over Yosemite I thought my mount was slipping. Nope. Just the sky moving. You don't unsee that.

The speed at which the entire sky is moving was a huge discovery for me when I had my first telescope
