@Flowersfordevin @30GotNext There have been 3 serious occasions where Louisville was almost able to relocate a team since the 90s, yet not wanting one wasn’t the reason the city didn’t get one.

Definitely larger markets and others that have been talked about are Nashville and Cincinnati. However, the appetite for basketball in Kentucky is unmatched, and Louisville’s logistic positioning to those other large markets without teams like Cincinnati (hour and a half drive) and Nashville (just under 3 hours) make it more advantageous in my mind than a KC. Louisville is also naturally built for a rivalry with Indiana being 2 hours drive from Indianapolis.

@FreedomHallNuts @30GotNext I understand with Louisville (mbb) but I do feel like Austin or even a city like Ontario would be a larger market personally. If you can prove that Louisville is the largest I’ll eat my words.

@netsfantx @30GotNext The largest sports market that doesn’t have a pro team. Larger than OKC, Memphis, and New Orleans. Consistently the largest college basketball market in the United States

@FreedomHallNuts @MbjElite3SSB @rationalUofLfan How in the f&ck do you feel used by a basketball player that you didn't recruit, or pay? All you did was watch. That's it. And you want your entertainment value to override the guy's health.

@L1C4TheArts Needs his confidence and swagger back. Not sure where it went this season. I remember when he first got to Louisville he was leading C-A-R-D-S chants for Freedom Hall during the TBT.

I’ll take K9 back but he has to work on his inside game. Coming in and his first shot being a 3 is not okay with me. IMO

Mikel Brown Jr. Elite 3SSB@MbjElite3SSB

@rationalUofLfan You guys are obsessed with that damn kid man. It’s kind of sickening to be honest. You guys took away from the focus of the team and made it all about what mikel is doing and not doing. Your life is absolutely miserable. What the hell was he to do, stay in Louisville?! SMH

That’s if he was injured enough to not play. There’s also a difference between an injury that could get worse from more play or one that is just uncomfortable to play through. Of course Louisville was a better team with him. He was an integral part of the roster construction. That’s why fans would have rather seen him play if he really could have.

Being rushed back into action because the team was falling and was playing below 500 ball without him on the court. Once he came they went on a run majority due to Mikel play. So don’t say he didn’t give it all he had. Blame Louisville for putting together a roster who couldn’t win so mikel could get the right treatment time .

I’m suggesting that it could have been the case, but no one really knows exactly because of how wishy washy his on and off play was, and the messaging surrounding it (messaging blame not solely on Mikel). But if you suit up to get paid to play basketball, you’re always taking a risk of injury. Of course we should always value the health of players, but injury is part of the game. Louisville is not holding Mikel back. He chose to come to Louisville and get paid a lot to do it. No one forced him. I will always celebrate his accomplishments and welcome him back. Just disappointed with how it all played out.

so basically you’re saying he didn’t leave it all on the floor cuz he chose his own health over a second round Lost in the tournament? Louisville forced him to play the whole second half of the season Hurt which eventually led to the injury he has now… Would you “Leave it all on the floor” for a team who’s tryna hold you back from your dreams?

@1UpStunt @MbjElite3SSB @rationalUofLfan Personally, I’m open to bringing in whoever wants to give that 100%. I don’t want to generalize the next blue chip based on one case because the next guy may want to leave it all on the floor. Nor do I want to do that with the next 5, 4, or 3 star transfer.

Thankful for what Mikel accomplished at Louisville. However, many fans feel used and misled. A lot of people and fans put significant effort and resources into Louisville basketball and expect the players to do the same if they sign up to wear the name on the front of their jersey. Many people are disappointed by how things unfolded, to say the least. Louisville basketball is more than just a vehicle for personal achievement, it represents a community and family. It’s part of people’s blood, and when it’s messed with, it will be defended. Mikel should always be welcomed back in Louisville with open arms, but what could have been will always be questioned. All the Louisville basketball family asks for is 100%.

If PK and staff can go on a haul this portal season, I think they’re on the cusp of a deep March run. And I don’t mean like last year. Longer athletic bigs, ball handling and defensive oriented guards who can shoot, and rim running PFs. Can get all of this through the portal. After watching two tournament games of game planning, PK is right there, he just needs the horses in the stable to unlock what he’s trying to do. Make proper adjustments and learn from the P4 level and the deep run will be imminent. All the pieces are there, just need to be willing to put them together.
