Absolutely amazing event, @FreedomLabNYC are killing it out there! A packed room, tons of deeply thought out questions from attendees, and delicious pizza made for an awesome night. Turns out people want privacy and they also want nuance and discussions around tradeoffs!

Fighting for privacy in a world built on total surveillance is incredibly difficult. So if you want privacy to exist, you must vote with your money. Pay in Monero online. Pay in cash in person. Support those who have taken the effort to set up ways to pay privately. The more success stories of businesses that respect customer privacy, the better. It always comes down to money. If a company loses sales because they ask for more data or more invasive payment methods than a competitor, that’s a privacy victory. If a politician doesn’t get elected because they treat their constituents like criminals not fellows in a community, that’s a privacy victory. If you yourself can live without using a bank account or credit card, that’s a privacy victory. Will privacy dominate? Probably not. But all we need for a circular economy is enough businesses to keep it alive. Monerica can exist off domain registration, hosting and computer equipment bought with Monero. And from there the circle grows.
