@PaulInvests83 If you are talking about sharesave/sharematch I had a similar experience. Locked in just as COVID hit and moved into an ISA after maturity. I took my first leap into investing heavily just after the markets collapsed in March 2020 after years of procrastination and missing out.

@FreedomLadUK Absolutely. My eyes were fully open to investing around 2020 when I had a really good company share scheme. Share prices locked in at 127p, now worth 795p. Had an option to hold them for 5 years at 127p, maximum of £500 a month.

Afternoon everyone, This is a brand new X account dedicated to tracking my FIRE journey in public. I’m 42, based in Yorkshire 🇬🇧 | Homeowner 🏠 | ETF Growth Investor. For years I was good at saving money but terrible at actually investing it. I procrastinated for a long time and even missed getting into Tesla in the early days. Finally took the leap and started investing properly on 26/03/2020. Current portfolio: £240k I’m now fully committed - throwing everything I can at it. Slightly annoyed I started so late, but my clear target is to be in a position to retire before 50, and ideally a lot sooner than that. If you’re a UK-based investor on a similar path, feel free to follow along and say hello #FIRE #UKInvesting #ETF #EarlyRetirement #FIREJourney

@PaulInvests83 Mate it is gutting. I am actually quite angry at myself for not realising what I know now much earlier. But atleast we know what we need to do now. We can not change the past but we can however help others from making the same mistakes.

@FreedomLadUK Started my account on here today too. Similar age (I’m 43) and wish I knew more about investing earlier on in life, could probably retire now had I known.

@danhinvesting @freedombill3 Damn, Yeah I just read your bio. I wish I could get wholesale, the cost of protein per kg has gone insane over the last few years. I end up spending more time looking for the best quality protein for the cheapest cost than I do actually training sometimes.

@FreedomLadUK @freedombill3 Yes I do. The majority of my protein shakes are from powder. I own a gym. I get wholesale prices. These cost £1.50 in home bargains. Just convenient now and then.

130g of protein will be consumed this Uber shift. Not ideal but it's better than going the drive through. 💪

I think it's absolutely fantastic that you're getting into investing. When I was your age, I barely thought about investing or retirement. If you stick with it, I promise that when you turn 40 you'll have a huge smile on your face. Steady, long-term growth really does turn small amounts into massive numbers

I auto-invest £100 every Friday into my long term pie. I’ve been debating changing it to £20 a day instead. What do you think?

In the UK, we have almost no financial education in our school system. Our entire society (like most capitalist economies) relies on people taking on debt for the financial system to keep functioning. Without constant borrowing, it would struggle to survive.Consumerism is pushed on us everywhere: from ads in apps to posters lining the walls of the London Underground.

@AccrueReturns Cheers pal, not sure how to get started here, but I've been investing for a few years and have kept it pretty quiet from the people I know. Just looking for a place to share my thoughts and experiences while staying somewhat anonymous.
