President Trump posted: "We drained the beautiful “Reflecting Pool” today in order to fix the scars and damage that was done by the Vandals two weeks ago. We wanted to wait until after the July 4th Weekend. The slashes were 300 yards long, and the floor of the pool was cut and then pulled upward, with great force, by these thugs." UPDATE: Kinu Rochford, 35, a former college basketball player who went on to play internationally, was shot and killed during a basketball tournament in Harlem, authorities said. Rochford was identified as the victim in the New York City basketball court shooting late Friday night. The shooting took place at the Kingdome tournament on the court behind 70 Lenox Avenue in Harlem. Two other people were wounded. WATCH: A 36-year-old man firebombed two church buildings in Queens Wednesday night with Molotov cocktails, NYPD says. He threw the first at the door of the building at 97-44 75th Street just before midnight. The device bounced off the door and exploded. The suspect then went to 92-04 78th Street and threw another Molotov cocktail at that door. It also bounced off and exploded. Firefighters put out ground fires at both locations.
